Foggia returns to his rights

Foggia vuelve por sus fueros

There is an Italian rival in terms of title for Sergio García, Izan Guevara, Jaume Masiá and any other of ours who dares to try to inherit the throne of Pedro Acosta, now in Moto2. And it is that Dennis Foggia has come back on his feet at the French GP, after two appointments in which he did not appear, those of Jerez and Portimao.

The one in the Leopard dominated the first day of Moto3 at Le Mans with an iron fist and with an inappropriate difference in a category as closed as the small one. Last year’s runner-up was the first with a wide margin of 0.428 over the first of his pursuers, a Guevara who has just won at the Ángel Nieto de Jerez with a work of art in the form of overtaking in the last corner, passing García and Öncü on the outside.

García, who is leading the circuit where last year he gave GASGAS his first victory in the championship, has not had the best of his days this time. A crash at the beginning of FP2 complicated things for him and he could only finish 15th, out of the first 14 places that give provisional direct access to Q2. These have been for Foggia, Guevara, Suzuki, Tatay, Masiá, Migno, Bartolini, Yamanaka, Ricardo Rossi, Sasaki, Holgado, Öncü, Moreira (he just won the Supermoto World Championship held last weekend in Alcarrás) and Artigas. Further back were García 15th, Rueda 19th, Ortolá 24th, Fernández 25th, Riu 28th and Carrasco 29th.
