A tragic incident occurred in Paris, where a 14-year-old teenager was fatally stabbed after refusing to give his cell phone to two other young individuals. According to the police and prosecutor’s office, the victim was leaving soccer training on Friday afternoon when the incident took place.
The two suspects, aged 16 and 17, were taken into custody with the help of a friend of the victim, who assisted in identifying them. It was reported that both suspects had previously appeared in court in October, accused of robbery with violence in a separate case.
Admission of Guilt and Increase in Violence
Paris Police Prefect, Laurent Nuñez, stated on RTL radio that one of the suspects admitted to the attempted extortion and fatal stabbing. Although Nuñez noted a decrease in judicial cases involving young people, the authorities have confirmed an increase in violence among minors, which is deemed “unbearable.”
The Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau, expressed his outrage on social media, referring to the suspects as “barbarians” and calling for a rebuilding of France where parents do not have to fear for their child’s safety. The incident has sparked concern and condemnation from the community and authorities alike.
