Farhan Akhtar Film Protest Demands ‘120 Veer Ahir,’ Causes Gurugram Traffic Chaos

Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming film “120 Bahadur” is currently embroiled in controversy, facing significant protests from the Ahir community. The group is demanding an immediate change to the film’s title ahead of its scheduled release on November 21.

The protest escalated into a major public demonstration this past week. Members of the Ahir community organized a foot march in Gurugram, India.

This march caused extensive disruption, creating multi-kilometer traffic jams on National Highway 48 (NH-48). Vehicles traveling from Jaipur were stranded for several hours, and the Kherki Daula toll plaza was also blocked by demonstrators. Questions have arisen regarding the district administration’s decision to permit the protest.

The Ahir community asserts that the title “120 Bahadur” disrespects their ancestors. They are demanding the film’s title be changed to “120 Veer Ahir.”

The film is based on the historical Battle of Rezang La during the 1962 India-China war. This battle saw 114 Ahir soldiers from the 13 Kumaon Regiment display extraordinary valor.

These brave soldiers were historically honored with the title “Veer Ahir.” The community alleges that the film’s chosen title, “120 Bahadur,” distorts historical facts and numbers, thereby insulting the martyrs.
