Farense extended its impressive unbeaten run on the road while Felgueiras continued its winless streak after the two Portuguese second-tier football clubs played to a 1-1 draw on Sunday.
The hosts, Felgueiras, opened the scoring in the 55th minute with a penalty kick converted by Vasco Moreira. Farense equalized later in the match, in the 84th minute, through a header from Cláudio Falcão.
The result marks Farense’s fifth consecutive match without defeat in the league, maintaining their unbeaten status away from home. The team from Faro currently sits in seventh place with 16 points.
Conversely, the draw extends Felgueiras’s winless streak in the II Liga to four games. The northern Portuguese club remains in 14th position with 12 points.
Both goalkeepers delivered standout performances, making several critical saves throughout the match. Farense’s Brian Araújo notably thwarted multiple early attempts from Felgueiras forward Mario Rivas.
Felgueiras took the lead after referee Carlos Macedo awarded a penalty, ruling that Assane Ndiaye had fouled Afonso Silva inside the box. Vasco Moreira then converted the spot-kick.
Farense intensified their attack in the final 15 minutes. Felgueiras goalkeeper Cristiano Figueiredo made key saves against Diego Dorregaray, Geovanny, and Darío Poveda before being unable to stop Falcão’s equalizing header from a corner.
The match, played at the Municipal Doutor Machado de Matos Stadium in Felgueiras, took place on a pitch whose condition deteriorated due to rain.
The game was attended by 700 spectators. Carlos Macedo, from the Braga Football Association, officiated the encounter, issuing yellow cards to Balla Sangaré, Cristiano Figueiredo, and Rivaldo Morais.
