A serious road accident recently put a 20-year-old woman in critical condition. She suffered severe head injuries and is now in intensive care. Doctors at Hospital de ClÃnicas in Montevideo are treating her for a skull trauma.
The young woman was riding her bicycle in El Pinar, a town located in the Canelones region. Her bicycle collided with a motorcycle at the busy crossing of Giannattasio and De los Médanos avenues. This crash happened in the past few hours.
A 23-year-old man was driving the motorcycle involved in the incident. Local police reported that he received trauma to his right foot. He also had some scrapes, but his injuries were less severe than the cyclist’s.
Investigators quickly performed an alcohol test on the motorcyclist. The results showed no alcohol in his system. The case is now in the hands of Prosecutor Cristina Falcomer. She will work to figure out exactly who was responsible for the collision. Forensic Police were also on the scene, gathering important evidence.
