Colombo: Sri Lanka’s new Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe says the economic crisis will get worse before it gets better.
Talking to the British Broadcasting Corporation, Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe said that the crisis will get worse before it gets better. People should be patient.
“It simply came to our notice then. I came here to improve the condition of the people,” he said.
The Sri Lankan Prime Minister has said that he will bring things back to normal, we need help for one year, whatever they borrow, they will repay, the international community will help us, we will help Asia. The oldest is democracy.

It may be recalled that two days ago, President Gotabhaya Raja Pakse appointed Ranil Wickremesinghe, a 73-year-old member of parliament, as the new Prime Minister of Sri Lanka to bring stability to the country.
Ranil Wickremesinghe has been the Prime Minister five times before. He became prime minister for the first time in 1993. But he is currently the sole representative of his party in the 225-member parliament.
