Malayalam superstar Dulquer Salmaan is currently making headlines. It is not for a new movie, but for a car smuggling case. Customs officials recently seized another luxury car tied to the actor. This happened during their ongoing probe into high-end vehicles brought from Bhutan. The incident in Kochi on Saturday has surprised both the film industry and his many fans.
This marks the third vehicle linked to Salmaan that has been seized. Customs officials are digging deep into a network of luxury car smugglers. These individuals brought expensive cars from Bhutan to India. They then re-registered these vehicles and sold them off.
One such car, a red Nissan Patrol SUV, was found connected to Dulquer Salmaan’s family. This vehicle was seized from an apartment in Vennala, Kochi. Reports suggest this particular car was first registered in Himachal Pradesh. It then made its way into the actor’s possession.
The Investigation Unfolds
Customs authorities have seized 40 vehicles as part of this large-scale investigation. Out of these, three cars are directly linked to Dulquer Salmaan. Officials are also gathering records for four of Dulquer’s personal vehicles. However, early checks show that the actor bought all his cars within the country. He purchased them from previous owners through legal channels.
Actor Takes Legal Action
The story took a new turn recently when Dulquer Salmaan approached the Kerala High Court. He filed a request to get back one seized car. This specific vehicle is a 2004 model Land Rover Defender. His petition stated that this car had a unique past. It was originally sent by the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) for its regional office in New Delhi.
A Storm of Speculation
Those in the film world believe Dulquer Salmaan is not directly tied to the smuggling. They feel he is just accidentally caught in this complex situation. But investigators are taking this case very seriously. This is because the overall case involves illegal dealings worth millions.
Dulquer Salmaan stands as a top star in the Southern film industry. He has made his mark in both Hindi and Malayalam cinema. Films like ‘Karwaan,’ ‘Sita Ramam,’ and ‘Kurup’ have made him a fan favorite. Now, this controversy casts a shadow over his bright career.
