Dominican Republic has a laboratory to analyze meat

The Dominican Accreditation Agency (ODAC) delivered the accreditation certificate to the laboratory of the Dominican Agribusiness Board (JAD) in analysis for E.Coli using the real-time PCR technique in meat.

With the accreditation of the E. Coli O157:H7 test, the Dominican Republic guarantees that it has a laboratory prepared to carry out meat tests for export to the United States, after more than 20 years of waiting.

Ángel David Taveras Difo, executive director of the ODAC, informed that, with this delivery, the Dominican Agribusiness Laboratory becomes the first in the Dominican Republic accredited to carry out the analyzes for E. Coli O157:H7.

“This accreditation represents a great advance for the country, since the Dominican Republic guarantees that the meat products that are imported and exported will be safe for the consumer, since the testing methodology, the quality assurance controls of the laboratories of the JAD have a high level of reliability, competence and comply with national and international standards” he indicated.

Osmar Benítez, executive president of the JAD, expressed that the commitment to serve the agricultural and agro-industrial sector does not stop.
