Dil Madrasi Movie Review: AR Murugadoss Film, Over-the-Top Action, Average Story, 2.5/5

The Plot’s Twists

The film introduces Raghuram, played by Sivakarthikeyan. He deals with a rare medical condition and a delusion disorder. His past holds much sadness. Malti, portrayed by Rukmini Vasanth, brings joy and hope to his life. Meanwhile, NIA officer Prem, played by Biju Menon, tracks an arms trafficking gang. This group operates from North India. Raghuram and Prem meet at low points in their lives. Raghuram is attempting suicide, and Prem is struggling with his mission. Their encounter adds some drama and twists, but these elements do not fully make an impact.

Star Power and Stunts

Sivakarthikeyan delivers Raghuram’s role with ease and emotion. Rukmini Vasanth appears sweet and lovely. She brings a fresh feel to the story. Vidyut Jammwal’s acting and stunts are the film’s biggest asset. His action scenes are truly exciting. His presence on screen is powerful. His role disappears briefly in the middle of the film. However, his return at the start and end truly boosts the movie’s energy. The rest of the supporting actors perform just okay.

When it comes to action, music, and technical parts, the action scenes are decent. The stunts have enthusiasm. But don’t look for logic in the fight sequences. The story feels weak, and the drama is often over-the-top. Even Vidyut Jammwal’s impressive action cannot save the film alone. The camera work and visuals match the mood well. The music is light. However, the story’s slow pace makes some parts less impactful.

Murugadoss’s Vision

A.R. Murugadoss has a history of successful films like “Ghajini” and “Holiday.” In those movies, he found a good balance between action and emotion. Sadly, his usual magic does not shine as brightly in “Dil Madharaasi.” He starts the film with an interesting turn. But as the story unfolds, the narrative loses its grip. His focus on action is clear. Still, the lack of depth in the script and drama is disappointing. His previous Hindi film, “Sikandar,” starring Salman Khan, was a big flop at the box office.

Should You Watch It?

“Dil Madharaasi” is a straightforward thriller-action movie. The beginning is enjoyable, and some scenes are very good. Vidyut Jammwal’s excellent action scenes are a highlight. The second half struggles, and the story weakens. Some parts feel exaggerated. If you want easy entertainment and some action, this film might be okay. But if you hope for a deep story or a truly memorable movie, this one won’t quite deliver.
