Diego Ocampo, from Orense, has been appointed as the new coach of Baxi Manresa, signing a two-year contract with the club, as announced on Monday.
Ocampo will take over the role previously held by Pedro Martínez on the Nou Congost bench, a position he is familiar with, having guided Bages to promotion to the Endesa League in 2018.
Last season, he led Tizona Burgos, where he secured a notable qualification for the Endesa League promotion phase, ultimately won by IGC Força Lleida. Additionally, Ocampo will balance his duties with his role as coach of the Czech Republic national team.
Ocampo boasts extensive experience in the league, having coached UCAM Murcia, Movistar Estudiantes, Joventut, and Casademont Zaragoza in the past. However, his tenures at his last three teams were marked by poor results, leading to his mid-season dismissal.
