The actress, who won the title of Miss Universe in 2015, told how she had to give up this crown in 2012. The actress said that Sushmita Sen asked her to give up the title of Miss Universe India.
In an interview with Mirchi Plus, Urvashi Rautela opened up about her journey so far and said, “In 2012, the age limit of contestants for the Miss Universe India pageant was fixed.” Urvashi was unaware of this matter at that time. In 2012, she competed on I’m She Miss Universe. But by then, Femina Miss India had given the selection rights for the Miss Universe pageant to someone else. It was then taken over by the Sushmita Sen company. Accordingly, Sushmita Sen would select the representative of India. Urvashi said, “As I was less than 18 years old at the time, I was disqualified.” Our boss was Donald Trump. Because he was co-owner of Miss Universe.
Urvashi told that at that time Sushmita Sen told her, Urvashi you can’t go. The actress further said, “After hearing all this from Sushmita Sen, I felt that I am the biggest loser in the world.” I was 18 years old then, but after 24 days. So I had to miss my most important opportunity just because of the gap of 24 days.
The actress told that I joined Bollywood. After that, in 2015, I participated in this pageant again and won the Miss Universe crown. Recalling her journey in 2015, the actress said, “When I came to audition for this competition, people thought I was a judge.” The actress said that the girls present there did not want me to participate in this competition . People started making fun of me and said, “Who gives the 10th exam again after passing the 12th exam?” But I didn’t listen to anyone at that time and in the end my strong will won out.
