Dhurandhar 2 box office hits ₹1140 crore as Ranveer Singh sequel overtakes Pushpa franchise

The Indian film industry is experiencing a massive financial realignment. Aditya Dhar’s espionage thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge has completely rewritten the record books just over a week into its global theatrical run. The sequel capitalized on the massive momentum of its December 2025 predecessor to generate unprecedented ticket sales across multiple languages.

The film crossed a massive financial threshold this weekend. By the end of its ninth day in theaters, the Ranveer Singh vehicle reached an estimated worldwide gross of ₹1,140 crore. This pushes the combined earnings of the two Dhurandhar films past ₹2,447 crore. That specific figure officially dethrones the Pushpa series, which previously held a massive footprint with a lifetime gross of approximately ₹2,221 crore.

The domestic market is driving the surge. The film collected ₹715.72 crore net in India alone, according to a detailed report published on Saturday. Overseas markets added another $30 million to the global total.

The sequel had already broken major Bollywood benchmarks before its second weekend. It secured the largest premiere in history with roughly 10,000 paid preview shows. It then became the first Indian film to ever cross ₹100 crore in a single day in one language. While the highly anticipated release missed Rs 1000 crore by a hair at the close of day seven, the subsequent weekend surge easily pushed it past the milestone.

Singh stars as Indian spy Jaskirat Singh Rangi. The plot follows his character infiltrating a Baloch gang in the Lyari neighborhood of Karachi. The ensemble cast includes R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.

The rival franchise lead publicly acknowledged the shift in box office dominance. Pushpa star Allu Arjun posted online to commend the new film. He called the sequel an “Indian story with International swag” and praised the cinematic delivery from both Singh and Dhar. Dhurandhar 2 continues to screen globally in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam as it heads into its tenth day of release.
