This exciting announcement came through a social media post, bringing a lot of joy to her followers. It happened just after rumors spread that she wouldn’t be part of the “Kalki 2898 AD” sequel. Deepika’s post was her first update since those rumors started. She shared a touching picture on Instagram. It showed only her hand intertwined with Shah Rukh Khan’s hand. Their faces were not visible in the close-up shot.
With the picture, Deepika wrote a lovely note that truly spoke from the heart. She looked back at a lesson Shah Rukh Khan taught her about 18 years ago. This was during the filming of “Om Shanti Om,” her very first movie. He told her that making a film and the people you make it with matter more than its success. Deepika shared that she completely agreed with this wisdom. She has used this lesson in every choice she has made since then. Their official statement read: “It is officially announced that Deepika Padukone will not be a part of the upcoming sequel to ‘Kalki 2898 AD.’ After much deliberation, we have decided to part ways. Despite the long journey of making the first film, we could not form a partnership. A film like ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ deserves that commitment and even more. We wish her all the best for her future endeavors.”
