Soul music icon D’Angelo has died at the age of 51. The acclaimed singer-songwriter passed away following a private battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born Michael Eugene Archer, D’Angelo rose to prominence with his 1995 debut album, Brown Sugar. This record was instrumental in launching the neo-soul movement.
The album featured hit singles such as "Lady," "Cruisin’," and the title track, "Brown Sugar."
His 2000 sophomore effort, Voodoo, further solidified his status. The single "Untitled (How Does It Feel)" earned D’Angelo a Grammy Award for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance.
Voodoo also received the Grammy for Best R&B Album, marking a significant critical achievement.
