The Duster and Sandero models led the charge. These two cars were the top sellers for private buyers. It shows that people are looking for reliable, practical vehicles that fit their needs.
Dacia first rolled onto the scene back in 2008. Since then, they have slowly built up a strong name for themselves. From January to June 2025, Dacia grabbed a huge 21.5% of the private car market. This means more than one in five people who bought a new car chose a Dacia. They sold 5,232 units, which is a big 35% jump from the same time last year. The overall private car market only grew by 11.4%, with 24,309 units sold. Dacia definitely outpaced the competition.
Looking at the bigger picture, Dacia also hit second place in the overall passenger vehicle market. They sold 9,425 vehicles, securing a 7.6% market share. The total passenger car market saw 124,043 new registrations. This market grew by 6.5% compared to the first half of 2024.
Duster, Sandero, and Spring Lead the Way
The Duster SUV was clearly a crowd-pleaser for individual buyers. It saw 2,155 new registrations. The Sandero hatchback was right behind it, selling just 63 fewer units. These two models remain the backbone of Dacia’s success.
Dacia is also making waves in the electric vehicle market. Their Dacia Spring model was the best-selling fully electric car for private buyers. It registered 348 units. This is a massive 300% increase in sales. It significantly outpaced the growth of the overall electric car market, which grew by 123% in the same period. This shows a real shift in what car buyers want. People are clearly ready for affordable and reliable electric options.
