The weekend is just around the corner and so we look back at this week’s crypto news in the Crypto Insiders weekly update. In this weekly recap of the news we discuss beer in the metaverse and the adoption of crypto in Ukraine, Africa and Germany among others. Of course we also dive into the bitcoin (BTC) price; will it finally happen? Finally, we look at a striking riser!
Beer in the metaverse, bitcoin in Germany
The metaverse is a digital world in which all kinds of large companies are present today. You can’t imagine whether it exists in the metaverse. For example, the Dutch beer brand Heineken has opened a virtual brewery in Decentraland. You can see what it looks like in the video above.
The world’s largest asset manager BlackRock made another interesting statement about crypto this week. For example, the war in Ukraine could accelerate crypto adoption. But, as Wiebe points out in the video, the giant made no direct statements about bitcoin.
Crypto and gaming are increasingly going hand in hand, which is not surprising given the opportunities that the two sectors offer each other. It was announced this week that the makers behind the world-famous PUBG: Battlegrounds will be building on the Solana (SOL) blockchain.
We started the retrospective with beer, and ended it with beer country Germany! This week, research by crypto exchange KuCoin revealed that as many as 7.5 million Germans have or have traded crypto in the past period. 41% of them plan to buy more crypto, which is of course good news.
Bitcoin price trend reversal?
This week we saw the bitcoin price rise again. Yesterday there was a new acceleration after news from Russia. With this, the price is now approaching the important resistance at $45,000. Can bitcoin finally break above this in the coming days? That would be big news; Bitcoin has been trading below this since the beginning of January! In the video above, Wiebe takes a look at the current price.
