Cristiano Ronaldo Sidelined: Misses Al Nassr’s India Match to Rest

Al Nassr’s star forward Cristiano Ronaldo will miss an Asia Champions League 2 match against FC Goa in India on Wednesday, a strategic decision by the club to preserve his physical condition.

Coach Jorge Jesus confirmed the Portuguese international would be rested for away fixtures outside Saudi Arabia. The move aims to ensure Ronaldo remains fit for upcoming crucial games.

The absence is likely to disappoint a significant fanbase in India, as well as in other regions like Iraq and Hong Kong. Supporters there eagerly anticipate opportunities to see and photograph the global football icon.

The match, scheduled for 2:45 PM local time (10:15 GMT) on Wednesday, is a third-round fixture in Group D of the Asia Champions League 2.

Al Nassr currently leads Group D with six points. Coach Jesus expressed confidence in the team’s prospects, stating they are “close to qualifying” and arrived in Goa “to win.”

Jesus also noted the team’s recent “significant improvement” but added they are still in an “initial phase” with “much to improve.” The club’s ambition is to conclude the season by winning trophies.

Fellow Portuguese player João Félix is expected to start for Al Nassr in Ronaldo’s place.
