England did wonders in the second Test at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. In the final session on the final day, England made the impossible possible by scoring 160 runs from just 16 overs. Jonny Bairstow was the hero of this victory for England.

Bairstow scored 93 runs on just 44 balls in the final session off the tee. Thanks to these smoky innings, England made the impossible possible and won the second Test by five wickets.

Jonny Bairstow, after playing a match-winning 136 against New Zealand at Trent Bridge, revealed that he followed instructions from his captain Ben Stokes to hit the balls to help them score a grand total.

On the fifth and final day of the second Test, Ollie Pope (18), Joe Root (3) and Jack Crawley (0) were all sacked early. But Bairstow scored 136 runs on just 92 balls with a strike rate of about 148. With the help of his hitting, the team won the game and took an unassailable 2-0 series lead.

Bairstow hit 14 fours and a partnership with Stokes (75 not out) helped the team win the exciting Test by five wickets. Bairstow said it was probably his best century. The 32-year-old has played 85 Tests and scored nine centuries. “The captain’s help helped us score this century. After the first wickets fell early, we helped ourselves carry innings with the help of batting. Ben Stokes also played a big part in the game.”
