Covirán Granada Player Gian Clavell Survives Near Fatal Peritonitis Complications Suddenly

Gian Clavell, a key player for Covirán Granada, has just gone through the most terrifying experience of his life. Luckily, he’s now out of danger in the ICU, but his wife has revealed on social media that he was at risk of death due to peritonitis. In a shocking testimonial, she wrote, “Gian almost left us.”

It all started when Clavell played in the FIBA windows with the Puerto Rico National Team and returned to Spain, only to be hospitalized due to appendicitis that quickly turned into peritonitis. According to his wife, this led to a “feverish convulsive crisis due to the great infection.” He underwent emergency surgery, which thankfully was a success, but the infection had already reached his blood, prompting his admission to the ICU, where he’s receiving the best possible care.

Now that Clavell is stable, his wife is reflecting on what she describes as “the worst day of my life, with my heart in a fist.” She’s grateful for the swift and effective treatment that saved his life, expressing appreciation for the support they’ve received. She also wants to thank Covirán Granada for their affection and support throughout this ordeal.

Clavell’s wife proudly says, “My husband is a bull, on and off the court,” and that resilience will be crucial in his recovery. However, it’s still unclear how long he’ll be out, and depending on his progress, he might not be able to play again this season. This is a significant blow to the team, as Clavell has been an important contributor, averaging 9.6 points and 2.0 assists so far. His absence will undoubtedly be felt as the team fights for permanence.
