As part of its commitment to promote sustainable development in its area of ​​influence, the Dominican Mining Corporation (Cormidom) announced its strategic plan for the execution of a series of works that will positively impact the economic and social development of the Monseñor Nouel province.

The plan designed by the Cormidom Foundation for this 2022 after multiple meetings with the main community leaders in the area, is focused on the execution of projects in the areas of infrastructure, promotion of education, culture, health, sports, development and the environment. environment.

As part of the initiatives that have already been carried out in 2022, Cormidom delivered to the Maimón City Council some 100 lamps to illuminate critical areas of the municipality, remodeled the clinical laboratory in the Maimón Hospital, this as phase 2 of the work already carried out in the 2021 and carried out the construction of infrastructure works such as the El Copey pedestrian bridge and the intervention of the Los Martínez court, the latter that he built and donated to the community years ago.

During the presentation ceremony of its 2022 Social Responsibility program, Paul Marinko, president of Cormidom, revealed that the Foundation that he also directs has scheduled in the coming days to intervene in the arrangement of the National Primary Care Unit in Los Martínez, the readjustment of classrooms in schools in El Copey and Los Martínez, the remodeling of the Raíz Community Center and the fitting out of tubular wells in different localities of the province.

According to the document presented by the company, in the axis of the promotion of education and culture, it is contemplated to continue with the education plans that include the provision of materials, transportation, assistance in fuel for transportation and expanding the university scholarship programs and strengthen the program with Radio Santa Maria as well as support the setting up of Infotep workshops in Maimón, start with the initiative in alliance with “Save the Children” on educational strengthening, and expand sustainability and waste management workshops in schools.

During the event, which was held at the Club of the Corporativa Maimón, the mining company reported that it will continue its health care days in communities and a new program, “Move with Cormidom” that promotes healthy living, as well as as well as others focused on strengthening the sports sector, including the sponsorship of local tournaments.

In addition to this, the subsidiary company of the Australian group Perilya Limited recalled its contribution to the generation of jobs and economic well-being in the area, highlighting that 75% of its permanent employees belong to the communities of Maimón, Los Martínez, La Raíz and El Copey.

Marinko was accompanied by Nacelí Rosario, coordinator of the Cormidom Foundation, and Cormidom executives Elizabeth Mena and Jonathan Ruiz. The main community representatives and opinion leaders in the area participated.
