Civitatisa technological platform for the sale of excursions and guided tours in Spain, has obtained €100M in a new collaboration and investment agreement with Vitruvian Partners. This alliance will help the Madrid startup to accelerate their international growth, especially they want to focus on Latin America and the rest of Europe.
Furthermore, this is the first time that Civitatis has allowed capital to enter the company, until now the growth had been organic. Vitruvian Partners will now enter the company to provide the necessary financial resources so that they can grow even more, and will keep Alberto Gutierrez Pascual, founder, as CEO.
The CEO of Civitatis explained how the decision was made to introduce capital into the company: “If it brought in an investor, it had to be the best, the one that could help us the most to take Civitatis to the next level. Vitruvian Partners is one of the main international private equity funds focused on high-growth companies with an incredible track record of success supporting leading global technology platforms«. Another of the great reasons to trust such a company is that in 2021 this fund took six companies public in United States and Europe. His previous investments include companies such as Skyscanner, Just Eat, Farfetch, Wise or Ebury.
The tourism platform has 70,000 activities in more than 3,000 destinations and in 2022 hopes to fill the trip more than 7 million customers.
