The past few months have been artificial Intelligence (AI) has been in the news a lot, and not always in a positive sense. Even AI companies themselves warn of the dangers that the technology can pose. Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire is a little less gloomy.
AI and blockchain good friends
Allaire is responding to a tweet from Hunter Horsley, the CEO of crypto ETF issuer Bitwise, on Twitter. Horsley notes that AI and blockchain go well together. The technique enables your automatic AI programs, or ‘bots’ based on AI, to automatically create images, audio or software, for example.
If you link these bots to blockchain, it is easier to check data and to have an overview of the data. You could also make AI bots that are able to buy things on the internet (within a certain budget). Not only blockchains in general, but also stablecoins and Decentralized Finance (DeFi), for example, are useful, according to Horsley.
AI is already trading USDC
Allaire wholeheartedly agrees. He calls smart contracts created by AI bots and value that bots trade with each other as sample applications. He even says such programs are already trading Circle’s stablecoin USDC on the blockchain and creating new wallet addresses.
Completely agree. AI and Blockchains are made for each other. Provenance of data, machine generated and enforced contracts, and machine to machine value exchange. We are already hearing about AI Bots spinning up on-chain wallets and using USDC. https://t.co/BwmdGdVufJ

Blockchains are already using AI as well
Unfortunately, Circle’s CEO does not go into details. In any case, it indicates that the two techniques are already starting to merge. The Solana Foundation has provided proof of this. Namely, it is now possible to ask OpenAI’s ChatGPT about real-time data on the Solana (SOL) blockchain and even have it help you buy Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) with the most affordable floor price. You can also ask this algorithm as many questions as you want about all kinds of cryptocurrencies and blockchains.
