The Champions Trophy 2025 has reached its final stages, with the semi-finalists now confirmed as India, New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa. However, the tournament has not been without its setbacks, particularly at the Rawalpindi ground where two matches were canceled due to rain. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has since announced that it will refund the ticket money for these matches.
Rawalpindi Ground Matches Canceled
On February 25, the match between Australia and South Africa was canceled due to rain, and just two days later, the match between Pakistan and Bangladesh suffered the same fate. In both cases, the wet outfield made it impossible to play, and the umpires were forced to cancel the matches without a single ball being bowled.
Refund Policy
According to the PCB’s ticket withdrawal policy for the Champions Trophy, if a match is canceled before the toss, ticket holders are eligible for a full refund. The PCB has confirmed that all ticket money will be returned, except for those who purchased “Hospitality Tickets” (Box and PCB Gallery), who will not be eligible for a refund.
Refund Process
Eligible ticket holders can collect their refund at selected TCS outlets between March 10 and March 14. To process the refund, fans will need to present their original ticket as proof of purchase, which must not be torn. Additionally, ticket holders must personally visit the TCS outlet, as refunds cannot be claimed by anyone else.
The Champions Trophy 2025 has been a disappointing tournament for the host nation, Pakistan, which failed to qualify for the semi-finals after losing to New Zealand and India. One of their matches was also canceled due to rain, further dampening their chances.
