Carlitos Tevez Appointed Talleres Coach, Begins Training Immediately

Carlitos Tévez assume o comando do Talleres

Carlitos Tévez isn’t wasting a second. The 41-year-old soccer legend landed in Argentina, fresh from Miami. He met reporters right at Ezeiza Airport. Then, it was straight to the training ground. Tévez immediately began working with his new team, Talleres. His focus is already on Friday’s match against San Lorenzo.

“I’m really happy and ready to get going,” Tévez shared with journalists. “I feel very calm about stepping into this role.” He then headed off to the club’s facilities.

This quick move came after quite a shake-up. Coach Diego Cocca left the club just yesterday. He had only taken the job on May 29th. The surprising part? Cocca never even led Talleres in a single game. The club reportedly didn’t deliver on promises of new players. There was also talk of a lack of respect from club director Andrés Fassi.

Talleres wasted no time bringing in Tévez. He had been out of coaching for about a year. Before this, he led Independiente. His first coaching gig was with Rosario Central.

Now, Tévez faces a massive challenge. Talleres is stuck near the bottom of the Apertura Tournament’s Zone B. They sit 14th, almost last. The team also crashed out of both the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Argentina. It’s a tough spot, but Tévez is known for tackling big tasks head-on.
