Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano (ADA) and co-founder of Ethereum (ETH), has expressed its strong opinion on Ethereum Classic (ETC). The visionary called the project fraudulent.
Charles Hoskinson strongly criticizes Ethereum Classic
Hoskinson split his opinion Twitter. In it, he claimed that Ethereum Classic has no purpose other than insiders dumping tokens to unsuspecting investors. The Cardano founder was fierce in his judgment, saying the following:
“ETC has no roadmap, innovation, team or vision and is filled with anger and toxicity.”
Hoskinson believes that Ergo (ERG), a cryptocurrency he is currently involved with, is the project ETC had wanted to be. He claims that Ergo has a clear vision, leadership and funding for the future.
Charles’ comments sparked strong backlash on both ends of the spectrum. Proponents of Ethereum Classic tried to prove otherwise, while others gave high praise for addressing the issues.
Cardano founder expresses his opinion on Ledger security vulnerabilities
In addition to his criticism of Ethereum Classic, Hoskinson also left release his opinion about the news about Ledger. Cardano’s founder emphasizes the importance of open-source software and regular audits. This process is important to ensure transparency and rapid identification of vulnerabilities. Simplicity in design is emphasized as a critical aspect of security, reducing the potential for attacks.
In addition, Charles suggests that non-updateable firmware is vital when a company is making specific security promises. It prevents exploitation of vulnerabilities discovered after the release of the hardware wallet. He also advocates decentralization of the update process to improve security in the hardware wallet space.
Hoskinson also reminds users that hardware wallets are primarily for secure storage and not everyday use. They have a passive user experience than say one hot wallet and it is critical that users know how to use their private keys have to go.
