It seems like Canon is gearing up to unveil a slew of cameras, and we can’t wait to get our hands on them. Fresh from the launch of the PowerShot V1, a compact camera designed with video enthusiasts in mind, rumors are now circulating about an upcoming addition to the V series – the EOS RV. This new mirrorless APS-C camera is set to shake things up, boasting a compact design and interchangeable lenses.
At first glance, the EOS RV appears to be paired with a kit lens, specifically the ‘RF-S18-45mm F4.5-6.3 IS STM’, and its compact body hints at a potential 24-megapixel sensor, similar to those found in the EOS R50 and EOS R10. The camera’s body also features a mounting point for accessories on the right side of the grip, as well as a REC button on the front, suggesting a strong focus on video recording. The tally lamp is another notable feature, providing a clear indication of when the camera is capturing footage.
Taking a closer look at the top of the camera, you’ll notice a mode dial and various control dials, alongside a zoom toggle with T and W options for smooth zooming. The EOS RV also sports a multifunctional hot shoe, allowing for the use of external microphones and other accessories, much like Canon’s newer camera models.
