C Tangana Wins Cannes Award for Anthem

Oliveira dois Cen Anos, the centenary anthem of Celta, continues to break records and garner awards at the national and international levels. The latest, three awards at the prestigious Cannes Lions festival, with nominations in five categories. The Celta club comments: “It is a global recognition that takes the Celtic roots, Galician culture and Celestial Afouteza beyond the borders of Vigo, Galicia and Spain. ‘Oliveira dos Cen Anos’ is not only an anthem, it is a global ode to Celticism.”

The awards were announced at the gala held at the legendary Lumiere Theater in Cannes. Marián Mouriño and Gael García represented Celta, accompanied by Antón Álvarez, Cris Trenas, Santos Bacana and Rogelio González, the Little Spain team responsible for the anthem’s video clip.

The club’s president, Marian Mourino, expressed his joy, saying: “I have to admit that when Pucho stated that this was going to be an international success, I had doubts. Can an anthem and video in Galician be awarded and recognized internationally? But Carlos Mouriño was clear, a visionary like few others, brave and determined to leave his mark on the centenary. He bet on it without hesitation, and now the emotion overflows us. I can only think about why Antón has come so far. He dreams big and is capable of making others dream. And as Celtists, we can do nothing but thank both of them.”

Cris Trenas, executive producer of the anthem, assured that they are “very excited that this piece has connected with so many people far beyond Celta and football.” For Little Spain, it was a huge challenge due to the size and complexity of the production. “Finishing in Cannes in this way reminds us that emotion is our guide and emotion is our only objective.”
