Imperial Esports Falls to Team Liquid in Thrilling CS2 Match

The stage was set for a thrilling showdown between Imperial Esports and Team Liquid at the BLAST Open Lisboa 2025, a CS2 tournament. The best-of-three series came down to the wire, with the final map deciding the winner. This high-stakes match was an elimination game, meaning the losing team would be out of the competition.

The Imperial Esports team, representing Brazil, was the underdog, but they refused to back down. Despite the odds, they fought hard until the very end. The team’s determination was evident in their performance, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to secure the win.

The first map, Dust2, was Imperial Esports’ choice, but Team Liquid dominated from start to finish, winning 13-4. However, the Brazilian team bounced back in the second map, Nuke, with a strong performance and a 13-11 win, forcing a deciding third map.

The final map, Anubis, was a nail-biter. Team Liquid took the lead in the first half, ending it 7-5. Although Imperial Esports tried to mount a comeback in the second half, they ultimately fell short, eliminating them from the tournament. Notably, Team Liquid’s Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken finished the series with an impressive 13-kill lead.
