Medina sustained muscular complaints during a recent League Cup match at Estádio da Luz. The injury occurred after a sliding tackle late in the first half.
He was substituted at halftime due to the issue. His participation in Sunday’s game against AVS SAD in Vila das Aves is currently in doubt.
Medina had been one of the few regular starters to feature in the League Cup fixture. Should he be unable to play, João Afonso and Christian Marques are expected to form the defensive partnership.
