Michael Brantley hit a grand slam, one of three homers in a 10-run sixth inning, and the Houston Astros routed the Chicago White Sox 13-3 on Friday night.

Yordan Alvarez and Kyle Tucker also homered in the sixth inning on a night the Astros finished with five homers and tied their season high for runs.

Framber Valdez (7-3) was the winning pitcher with 6 innings, eight hits allowed, three earned runs and seven strikeouts.

In the sixth inning, with the game trailing 3-3, Alex Bregman walked and scored when Alvarez singled and right fielder Andrew Vaughn threw a pitch wide of third base.

The Astros extended the lead to 5-3 on an RBI double by Tucker, which extended his hitting streak to 15 games, the longest of his career and also the longest he’s been active in the major leagues.

White Sox starter Lucas Giolito (4-3) hit Yuli Gurriel with a pitch before he left the mound on a single by fellow Cuban Aledmys Diaz.

Matt Foster replaced Giolito and Chas McCormic loaded the bases with an RBI single.

They were two out when Brantley hit his third career grand slam to make it 10-3. Bregman was given a second walk in the inning before Álvarez homered to right field.

For the Astros, the Venezuelan José Altuve 3-0. Honduran Mauricio Dubón 1-0. Cubans Yordan Álvarez 4-2, two runs scored, two produced; Yuli Gurriel 3-3, two runs scored, one RBI, and Aledmys Díaz 4-1, one run. The Dominican Jose Siri 1-0. Puerto Rican Martin Maldonado 4-0.

For the White Sox, Cubans Luis Robert 4-1; José Abreu 4-0 and Yoán Moncada 1-0. Dominican Leury Garcia 4-0.
