Bored Magnus Carlsen Dominates ChatGPT in Chess Game

Even the world’s greatest chess mind can find time hanging heavy. Magnus Carlsen, the undisputed number one player globally, recently proved this. During a trip, Carlsen faced a bit of boredom. He decided to challenge a truly unique opponent. That opponent was ChatGPT, an advanced artificial intelligence.

Carlsen shared the surprising match on social media platform ‘X’. He posted a screenshot of the game with the simple caption, “I sometimes get bored while travelling.” The outcome was a clear victory for the human champion. In just 53 minutes, Carlsen completely dismantled the AI’s defenses.

The Norwegian grandmaster ended the game with all his pieces still on the board. ChatGPT, on the other hand, had lost every single one of its pawns. After the final move, the AI offered a digital compliment. “I give up,” ChatGPT stated. “That was methodical, clean, and precise.”

Carlsen, ever the sportsman, even when facing a machine, returned the praise. He noted that the artificial intelligence “played very well in the opening.” However, the human touch of Carlsen proved too much. The AI simply “couldn’t keep up correctly” as the game progressed. This match highlights Carlsen’s dominance, even against sophisticated computer programs.
