Veteran Indian actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik passed away in Mumbai on Thursday, March 8, 2023 at the age of 66. The news was announced by several surprised colleagues from Bollywood show business.

Born on April 13, 1956 in Mahendragarh, Haryana, Kaushik was an actor, director and producer, starting his career as an assistant director to director Shekhar Kapoor and working in films like Masoom and Mr. India.

He made his acting debut in the film Mandi in 1983 and has acted in more than 150 films since then. Some of his most notable roles include the comedies Mr. India, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Deewana Mastana.

In the 1990s, Kaushik also started directing and producing some successful films including Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja and Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain. He has also directed some plays and produced the movie Milenge Milenge in 2010.

Kaushik is also known for his work as a television host and judge on various reality shows including Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and Indian Idol.

In 2018, Kaushik was honored with the prestigious Padma Shri Award for his contribution to the arts and the Indian film industry.
