BLAST Rivals 2025: FURIA Victorious, m0NESY Named MVP Despite Final Loss

Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov of Falcons secured his sixth Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of 2025 at the recent BLAST Rivals 2025 Season 2 Counter-Strike 2 championship, a testament to individual brilliance even as his team fell short of the title.

Osipov’s outstanding performance earned him the top individual honor, despite Falcons not winning the international tournament. The championship, which concluded last Sunday, instead went to FURIA.

FURIA’s victory marked their fourth title in their last five competitive appearances, showcasing their team dominance. However, Osipov’s 1.42 rating, based on HLTV data, positioned him as the top player.

This highlights a growing trend in esports where advanced statistical metrics are increasingly used to recognize player impact beyond overall team results. Osipov achieved his six MVP awards this year without a single team championship win.

The new Rating 3.0 system, used in Counter-Strike 2, plays a crucial role in these evaluations. It combines economic adjustments with the “Round Swing” metric, which measures the actual impact of each kill on a round’s outcome.

Rating 3.0 employs six sub-metrics: Kills, Damage, Survival, KAST, Multi-Kills, and Round Swing. This comprehensive system aims to provide a deeper understanding of individual player contributions.

Following Osipov in the top player rankings were JamYoung of TYLOO with a 1.32 rating and donk from Spirit with 1.25.

FURIA, the tournament champions, also had a strong individual showing with three players in the top eight: KSCERATO (1.23 rating), yuurih (1.17 rating), and YEKINDAR (1.16 rating). Biguzera of paiN Gaming also made the list with a 1.17 rating.
