The bitcoin price over the years
Bitcoin is the oldest cryptocurrency from everyone. You can say that everything started with bitcoin. Because it is the oldest cryptocurrency, you can also look far back in time at the price.
Bitcoin was founded in 2009 and at the time full bitcoins were sold for no more than a few dollars. However, it is very unlikely that you had heard of bitcoin at this point. The world of crypto was really only known within a small group of people.
However, if you were there that early, for example in the spring of 2012, it was possible to buy half a bitcoin for the price of a beer. That half bitcoin would have been worth $14,000 today. Of course it is easy to talk afterwards, but with this information that one beer turned out to be quite expensive.

Most people didn’t hear about bitcoin for the first time until years later. Around 2016, there was a real hype about bitcoin and the rest of the crypto world. In August of 2016, the bitcoin rate around €580. If you had invested in bitcoin for the price of a beer then, you would not have been rich now, but you would have achieved an astronomical return of just under 4,000%. Those few dollars would now have been worth more than $100.
The moral of the story is that you could have made gigantic returns by investing in bitcoin just a few years ago. That’s how fast it can go in crypto country. You never know what a small investment could mean in the future.
