Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is set to make a guest appearance on the popular Indian television show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’. This marks his first-ever appearance on an Indian TV series. The entire cast and crew of the show are reportedly very excited about this unique collaboration.
Smriti Irani, the lead actress in the series, described the moment as historic for Indian entertainment. Gates is expected to utilize his platform on the show to discuss critical issues concerning maternal and newborn child health. His appearance will also highlight the ongoing work of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
Gates has previously made a cameo on an American television show, ‘The Big Bang Theory’. His upcoming role aims to bridge global philanthropy with mainstream Indian storytelling.
A new promo for ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2’ has been released, featuring Smriti Irani’s character, Tulsi Virani. She is seen engaging in a video call with an unseen guest. Tulsi warmly welcomes the guest, saying, “Jai Shri Krishna,” and expresses her delight that they are connecting directly with her family from America.
“We are waiting for you,” Tulsi adds, before turning to the audience and teasingly asking, “You must be wondering who this guest is. Wait a little.” Press Trust of India (PTI) reports confirm this mysterious guest is indeed Bill Gates.

Irani shared in an interview that this is “a major effort to change” the lack of mainstream discussion around women’s and children’s health. “Bringing one of the world’s most respected personalities together with a popular Indian TV story is not just a collaboration, but the beginning of awareness and change,” she stated.
