Bhojpuri cinema stars are actively engaging in the ongoing Bihar Assembly elections, both as candidates and campaigners. This political involvement has intensified existing rivalries, leading to public spats between prominent figures. A heated verbal exchange has recently erupted between Khesari Lal Yadav and Pawan Singh.
Khesari Lal Yadav, who is contesting from the Chhapra constituency as a candidate for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), initiated the public friction. His political opponent, Pawan Singh, is actively campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate in the same district.
The dispute escalated when Khesari made a direct comment on Pawan Singh’s marital history. He publicly stated, “At least I stay with one wife.” This remark quickly drew a sharp response from Pawan Singh.
Pawan Singh retorted strongly to Khesari’s comment. He questioned Khesari’s personal life, implying deeper issues. Pawan Singh notably fired back, asking, “Should I now say that he has ruined 500 lives in the name of becoming a star?”
Pawan Singh further emphasized his knowledge of Khesari’s personal affairs. He asserted, “I know the truth about everyone.” He concluded his remarks by saying he prefers not to elaborate further.
Khesari Lal Yadav addressed the media, clarifying his relationship with Pawan Singh. He acknowledged Pawan Singh as an idol but asserted, “If I have made him my idol, it doesn’t mean he is my creator or my God.” Khesari stressed the importance of personal deeds over status.
He also recounted previous comments from Pawan Singh, who had reportedly said Khesari was “not on one water” and “here because of him.” Khesari maintained he does not make personal comments and values his relationships highly.
The backdrop to these exchanges includes Pawan Singh’s long-standing public struggles with his marital life. His wife, Jyoti Singh, has made various accusations against him. Jyoti Singh is also a contender in the Bihar Assembly elections.
