Benfica’s women’s basketball team suffered a crushing 109-58 defeat to Spain’s Baxi Ferrol on Wednesday, extending their winless streak to four games in the EuroCup Women group stage and leaving them at the bottom of Group K.
The overwhelming 51-point loss marked Benfica’s fourth consecutive defeat in the competition. The Portuguese side now holds just four points, reflecting their struggles in the current campaign.

Benfica faced difficulties from the outset of the match. They concluded the first quarter trailing significantly at 24-6 against the Spanish hosts.
The Lisbon-based squad continued to struggle in the second period, adding only 12 points to Ferrol’s 26. This resulted in a substantial 50-18 deficit by halftime.
Despite a slight improvement in the second half, Benfica could not overcome Baxi Ferrol’s consistent performance. The Spanish team won the third quarter 30-23 and the fourth 29-17, maintaining their strong lead.
