Benfica Elections: Vote Counting Races Against Scheduled Sunday Sports Fixtures

Football club Benfica is working to expedite an ongoing vote count for its internal elections to ensure a series of scheduled sports matches can proceed as planned at its Lisbon complex.

The tallying of votes remains incomplete, with many sections yet to be processed at the club’s stadium complex. The club’s leadership is reportedly pushing for a swift conclusion to the electoral process.

Four official sports matches are slated for Sunday across two pavilions within the complex, according to the club’s agenda. Benfica aims to finalize the vote count promptly, allowing these events to take place without disruption.

The scheduled matches include a women’s national championship handball game. It is set for 2:00 PM local time at Pavilion No. 2.

SL Benfica is scheduled to play CDE Gil Eanes in this handball fixture.

A men’s Hugo dos Santos Cup basketball match is planned for 3:00 PM local time. This game will be held at Pavilion Fidelidade.

SL Benfica will face Vitória SC in the basketball match.

Later in the evening, a women’s national championship volleyball game is on the agenda for 6:00 PM local time at Pavilion No. 2.

This volleyball match features SL Benfica against FC Porto.

Finally, a women’s national championship futsal game is scheduled for 7:00 PM local time at Pavilion Fidelidade.

SL Benfica is set to play GCR Nun’álvares in the futsal event.
