Belinda Bencic Wins 10th Career Title, Triumphs Again in Tokyo

Swiss tennis player Belinda Bencic secured her 10th career title in Tokyo on Sunday, defeating Czech Linda Noskova in straight sets after navigating a significantly tougher path to the final.

Bencic won the final match with a score of 6-2, 6-3. This victory marks her continued success in the Japanese capital, where she previously claimed an Olympic gold medal in 2021.

The Swiss athlete, ranked 13th in the world, spent 5 hours and 23 minutes on court during her tournament run to the championship match. Her opponent, world No. 17 Linda Noskova, had a comparatively easier journey.

Noskova spent only 35 minutes on court across her quarterfinal and semifinal matches. This was due to withdrawals by Anna Kalinskaya and Elena Rybakina, respectively.

The final lasted 1 hour and 22 minutes. This Tokyo title is Bencic’s second trophy of the year, following her win in Abu Dhabi in February.
