Begraoui’s Penalty Ends Drought, Solidifies Estoril Striker Spot

Estoril striker Yanis Begraoui has solidified his position as the club’s leading offensive option after breaking a scoring drought, putting him back in contention for a regular starting spot.

Begraoui scored from a penalty in Estoril’s 1-1 draw against Nacional. He is now expected to feature in coach Ian Cathro’s starting eleven for the upcoming match against Rio Ave.

This goal marked Begraoui’s first since the fourth matchday of the season, when Estoril drew 2-2 with Tondela. It was his second goal in the Liga Betclic this campaign.

The Moroccan forward is currently the most prolific striker in the Estoril squad.

Lacximicant also started in the Nacional game, deployed on the left side of the attack. He has one goal this season, scored in the Taça de Portugal against Belenenses, an effort assisted by Begraoui.

Another forward, Alejandro Marqués, is still awaiting his first goal of the current campaign.

Several other Estoril players have two goals each in the Liga Betclic. These include Tiago Parente, Lominadze, Rafik, and João Carvalho.
