Barceloneta debuts with victory and a stellar Larumbe

The Zodiac Barceloneta debuted with victory in the group stage of the Champions League by winning by a clear 11-6 at Jadran Split, in its Sant Sebastià pool. Barceloneta always took the initiative on the scoreboard from the first quarter and even though they had the important absence of Alberto Munárriz, but especially with Marc Larumbe, the best player of the match, they did not notice his loss.

Elvis Fatovic’s team was always ahead, with goals from Felipe Perrone, Álvaro Granados from penalties and Marc Larumbe that gave an advantage (2-0 and 3-1) being only answered by two Croatian goals in the final stretch of the first quarter (3-2). The Croats, led by Antonio Duzevic, woke up in the third quarter with two goals in a row that reduced Barcelona’s lead to 7-4.

The buoy Miguel de Toro returned the four rental goals and despite a new goal from Jadran, the third goal by Granados left the first win at the end of the period (9-5).
