Barça Signs Kevin Punter, Replacement for Hezonja

Barcelona has officially confirmed the signing of Kevin Punter, a 31-year-old 1.93-meter guard, for the upcoming season. Punter arrives from Partizan, where he spent the last three seasons and was recently released from his contract.

In his first message after joining the club, Punter expressed his excitement about the new season and his desire to give his best. He wrote, “I really want to be in Barcelona. I am very excited about next season and I hope to give my best. See you soon and Força Barça!”

Punter will join the team to share the point guard position with Nico Laprovittola and Darío Brizuela. The Argentine could return to the point guard position, and there have been speculations about his departure from the club, although he has one year left on his contract.

The signing of Punter comes after the “Hezonja case”, where the forward had a signed agreement with the Blaugranas, but they broke it after the player’s words declaring his love for Real Madrid. With the main objective ruled out, the hiring of Punter, who should be one of the main offensive references, was accelerated in the offices.

Punter has played in various countries, including Greece, Belgium, Poland, Italy, and Serbia. He has five seasons of experience in the Euroleague, having played for Olympiacos, Red Star, Armani Milan, and Partizan.
