Banreservas reveals at ITB Berlin that active portfolio for tourism exceeds RD$35.868 million

The general administrator of the Banco de Reservas, Samuel Pereyra, stressed that during 2022 the active portfolio for tourism exceeded RD$35,868 millionwith financing approvals of US$172 million for projects in the sector.

He said that RD$8,954 million were also disbursed for the hotel sector and financing of more than US$400 million was approved for working capital and development of tourism projects.

“All these investments have been necessary and are part of Banco de Reservas’ commitment to the development of the Dominican Republic,” Pereyra reiterated when speaking at the inauguration of the photographic exhibition organized by the Bank "Wealth in the Dominican Republic"by the prominent lens artist, Eladio Fernández.

Pereyra revealed that Banreservas is evaluating new investments for an amount greater than USD$1.5 billion to guarantee the continued growth of tourism in the Dominican Republic. These resources will be used for the construction of new hotel projects.

Accompanied by a delegation of business executives from the entity, Pereyra will hold more than 30 business meetings with tourism investors who attend ITB Berlinwith the purpose of attracting and attracting foreign investment for the sector for the benefit of the country.

He explained that the objective of these meetings is to ensure that businessmen and hotel chain owners feel attracted by the investment climate and natural beauties, so that they consider investing in the different tourist poles of the Dominican Republic.

At the opening of the exhibition "Wealth in the Dominican Republic"The Minister of Tourism, David Collado; the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Zurab Pololiskashvili; Noelia García de Pereyra, president of the Banreservas Volunteers; David Llibre, Marte Piantini, Frank Rainieri and Andrés Marranzini, among other personalities linked to tourism.

The pieces that make up the exhibition by prominent Dominican photographer Eladio Fernández will be donated by Banreservas to the Dominican Embassy in Berlin, where they can be appreciated by visitors to the diplomatic headquarters.

Eladio Fernández’s work not only managed to capture the aesthetic, but also to raise awareness about environmental and ecosystem preservation. The set of his works constitutes one of the most extensive image banks on the environments of the Antillean area.
