Banks detail agendas for ITB Berlin tourism fair

Bancos detallan agendas para feria turística ITB de Berlín

Yesterday, Banco Popular and Banco de Reservas detailed the contact agenda that they will develop at the Berlin Tourism Fair (ITB) 2023, which will be held in the German capital from March 7 to 9, with an emphasis on attracting investment for the sector and opportunities for business.

The Banco Popular Dominicano reported yesterday that it will reaffirm its leadership and support for the development of Dominican tourism with its participation in the ITB Berlin.

He specified that he will exhaust an agenda of about 20 meetings with tourism companies, investors and relevant entities in the sector to specify business opportunities in progress or identify new ones.

“During the ITB Berlin, Banco Popular will continue to strengthen its alliances, for which it will offer its traditional cocktail to businessmen and hotel investors and to the authorities of the Ministry of Tourism and members of the Dominican delegation present at this fair,” he said in a statement from press.

He recalled that El Popular has been the main historical financier of tourism in the Dominican Republic, with a trajectory of three decades contributing to the development of this industry.

He highlighted that, as part of his catalytic role, he actively accompanies the sector at international fairs, ITB Berlin being one of the first, in which he has participated since 2014.

In addition to its traditional presence at ITB Berlin, Popular attends other international fairs that strengthen the position of the Dominican Republic as a world-class destination, such as the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), in Madrid, Spain; the International French Travel Market – Top Resa, in Paris, France; and the World Travel Market, in London.

The ITB Berlin, which began in 1966 and is considered one of the main tourism fairs in the world, resumes its face-to-face edition this year after the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this edition, the event seeks to gradually recover its level of attendance, which exceeded 160,000 people.

Similarly, this German fair is reorienting itself to focus more on the B2B (Business to Business) segment or business between companies in the hotel, airline, tour operator, tourism or vehicle rental sectors, among others.

In this sense, the commercial exhibition will address a three-day program dedicated to business, content and relationships between these professionals, with selected sessions that will be broadcast live through the itb.com portal.

banreservas

Banco de Reservas reported that it will participate in ITB 2023, which will have thousands of exhibitors from different countries who will meet at the world’s largest congress of the tourism industry.

The Banreservas delegation will be headed by the general administrator, Samuel Pereyra, who will participate in business meetings with tourism investors to exchange experiences on new trends in the industry, products, concepts and financing facilities in the different tourist destinations in the Dominican Republic.

Pereyra will be assisted in the days of meetings by senior executives from the bank’s business area, as well as tourism businesses, in order to offer interested investors access to the diversified financing portfolio for the development of important tourism projects.

Within the framework of the ITB Berlin 2023 Fair, at the Dominican Republic stand, Banreservas will exhibit the photographic exhibition “The Natural Wealth of the Dominican Republic”, by photographer Eladio Fernández. The exhibit will be donated to the Dominican embassy in Germany for permanent display.
