Rohingya lakhs take refuge in Bangladesh

1.1 million Rohingya Muslims who fled Myanmar for their lives have reportedly been protected by Bangladesh in camps near its shores. A senior Bangladeshi official who oversees the deportation of Rohingya Muslims to the island, Mohammad Shamshad Dauja, said a Navy ship will carry 379 refugees from the city of Chittagong to Bhashan Char Island, which is off the southeast coast. from the country. He said, ‘Those people go there voluntarily. The 379 refugees have chosen to live there to have a better and safer life.

One lakh of Rohingya can settle on the island.
Mohammad Shamshad Dauja said: “From the dispatch of the officers to the medicines, everything will be solved.” The government began sending Rohingya refugees to the island 11 months ago and said it could now host up to 100,000 people. Dauja said a total of 1,500 Rohingya would be brought to the island in a phased manner over the next few weeks. Previously, around 19,000 refugees were sent to the island from Cox’s Bazar. However, it is unclear when the next group of refugees will be sent to the island.
