Banco Popular opens three branches in Higüey and Santo Domingo

The Banco Popular Dominicano simultaneously inaugurated three new bank branches, one in Higüey, another in the National District and the third in Santo Domingo Norte, in an act that was attended by the Superintendent of Banks, Alejandro Fernández W., and the Executive President of Banco Popular, Christopher Paniagua.

The three new offices are part of the hybrid branch model, through which the bank promotes the integration of traditional banking services with self-service based on digitization and a high level of advice provided by the qualified personnel who attend each of these localities.

In detail, it is the fourth branch of Banco Popular in Higüey, an important location for the financial organization. In it, the client will have access to large spaces for personalized attention on the platform, a self-service area with access to the bank’s digital channels, as well as a cashier area with 10 positions, one of them adapted for people with disabilities.

This office is also powered by solar panels, adding to the bank’s network of photovoltaic offices, which now accounts for 31% of all offices.

The other two new branches are located in the Habitat Center Tower, on Winston Churchill Avenue, in the National District, and another in the Colina Centro shopping plaza, in Santo Domingo Norte.

Likewise, they offer the visitor comfortable service areas on the platform, nine cashier positions in Torre Hábitat Center and eight in Colina Centro to facilitate users with their transactions and self-service areas that help customers save time. Also, both offices have been designed with accessibility criteria to support the inclusion of people with disabilities.

These three branches have state-of-the-art ATMs, including units that accept commercial cash deposits, as well as an attendance and queue management system, which increases the speed of processes.

The new offices will have, on average, 20 employees per location, distributed in the various business, cash and service positions.

Sustained growth and optimism in the country

During the institutional event, Christopher Paniagua, executive president of Popular, highlighted that “the simultaneous inauguration of three modern branches of Banco Popular takes place in the context of sustained growth of the country’s economy, which leads the indicators in the region, and proper management of the monetary and regulatory authorities of the national financial sector”.

Likewise, he recognized the optimism with which national and international investors continue to observe the macroeconomic behavior and the social peace that the Dominican Republic is experiencing.

A step towards modernity and digitization of services

Referring to the new offices, Mr. Francisco Ramírez, Popular’s Executive Vice President of Personal Businesses and Branches, explained that the entity continues to strengthen coverage nationwide, offering more and better financial services to the country.

“Thanks to our constant innovations and the robust technological infrastructure that we have constantly strengthened over the years, today we offer Dominicans a highly efficient bank management model designed to respond to their needs at all times, saving them time and improving their service experience”, added the executive.

In addition, the Popular executive assured that “with these new infrastructures we want customers to continue to feel welcomed and supported, as has been the tradition in the almost 60 years that our bank has.”
