Astronomer Deletes Cabot Hiring Amid CEO Byron Coldplay Kiss Cam Scandal

The atmosphere was electric at the Coldplay concert in Foxboro, Massachusetts, on Wednesday, July 16. Mid-show, the band’s frontman, Chris Martin, brought out the famous “Kiss Cam.” The camera swept across the crowd, landing on two concertgoers. One was Andy Byron, 50, the CEO of the company Astronomer. Next to him was Kristin Cabot, a high-ranking employee.

As the spotlight hit them, cameras caught Byron hugging Cabot. The duo instantly realized they were on the big screen. Byron quickly ducked down, almost vanishing from view. Cabot, too, tried to hide, covering her face with her hands. It was an awkward, public moment. Chris Martin, 48, couldn’t help but comment on the scene. “Oh, either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy,” he joked to the roaring crowd, according to footage shared widely online.

After the public spectacle, it appears Astronomer has quietly removed an online announcement celebrating Kristin Cabot’s hiring. The post, titled “An exciting day today,” had highlighted her appointment as Chief People Officer in 2024. It can no longer be viewed on a professional networking site. Visiting the link now shows a message: “This post cannot be displayed.” It’s unclear when this news was pulled or why.

Neither Byron nor Cabot has publicly commented on their relationship status. However, Newsweek reported that Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan Byron. Reports indicate that a prominent entertainment publication attempted to reach Byron, Cabot, and Astronomer for their comments on the matter.

Astronomer, the company behind the Astro data platform, brought Cabot on board in November 2024. At the time, Cabot shared her thoughts in a press release. She preferred to think of her role as “people strategy” rather than typical human resources. She emphasized that real success happens when a company’s people strategy works hand-in-hand with its business goals. Cabot noted that many companies don’t truly value what a strong people leader can bring. She felt excited by her talks with Andy Byron and the Astronomer team, seeing a lot of potential there.

Byron, who became CEO in 2023, also released a statement about Cabot’s hiring. He stated that Astronomer’s employees are its most valuable asset. They help clients use their data better and gain an advantage. He praised Kristin’s leadership and her deep knowledge of talent management, employee engagement, and people strategy planning. Byron said these skills would be key as the company continued its fast growth. He described her as a proven leader from many growing companies. Her passion for creating diverse and cooperative workplaces made her an ideal fit for Astronomer.

Before joining Astronomer, Kristin Cabot spent four years as Chief People Officer at Neo4j.
