Ashwin’s inclusion in the World Cup team is confirmed, but it is not Akshar Patel but Shardul Thakur who is excluded.

There will be a big change in Team India for the World Cup to be held in India next month. After the Australia series, R Ashwin also gets a place in the World Cup team. Earlier it was believed that R Ashwin would replace the injured Akshar Patel. But as per Telegraph report, Ashwin will be included in the team even if Akshar is fit. In such a situation, Shardul Thakur will be shown the way out of the team.

As per ICC guidelines, World Cup team changes can be made until September 28. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is currently confused about the inclusion of Ashwin or Sundar. Both players were given a chance in the three-match ODI series against Australia. Changes in the World Cup team will be based solely on the performance in the ODI series.

Ashwin’s claim is strong

However, instead of Sundar, Ashwin’s claim seems stronger. Ashwin is currently India’s best bowler in Test cricket. Even in the T20 format, Ashwin bowls firmly. Ashwin’s biggest advantage in the team is that he is a smart cricketer and has mastered the art of controlling runs even when he doesn’t take wickets. Furthermore, Ashwin also has the ability to bat when required.

Ashwin also has the support of captain Rohit Sharma. Immediately after the Asia Cup, Rohit Sharma hinted that Ashwin would join the team. Rohit Sharma believes that the experience that Ashwin has will be of great benefit to Team India. Rohit Sharma had also made it clear that Ashwin is part of Team India’s plan for the World Cup.
