Veteran actor Arshad Warsi has revealed his unique approach to joining Aryan Khan’s upcoming debut series, “Badlands of Bollywood.” Warsi accepted the role without even reading the script for the project, which is set to premiere on Netflix.
He shared insights into his decision during an appearance on Raj Shamani’s podcast. Warsi explained that Aryan Khan personally called him for the series.
The role required only “one or two days of work.” Warsi immediately agreed, expressing his trust in the filmmaker.
Warsi told Aryan, “I don’t need to hear anything, just tell me what I have to do.” Aryan described the character as “a gangster who bails out the hero every time.”
This brief description was enough for Warsi, who committed to the series on the spot. He appreciated Aryan’s clear vision.
Warsi also shared a memorable anecdote from the set. He once asked Aryan about the origin of a boat carrying four robust men in a scene.
Aryan’s straightforward reply was, “Sir, it must be coming from Somalia.” This comment immediately resonated with Warsi.
He understood Aryan’s deep grasp of the narrative. Warsi noted that while an actor might not need to know the boat’s precise origin, it signifies a director who thoroughly understands their story.
“Badlands of Bollywood” features a diverse cast alongside Warsi. This includes Lakshya, Bobby Deol, Mona Singh, Gautami Kapoor, Raghav Juyal, Anya Singh, and Sahar Bamba.
The series is available for streaming on Netflix.
