Arouca Signs Mateo Flores From Real Betis On Loan With Purchase Option

The whispers around the football world suggest Arouca has almost sealed a significant deal. They are set to bring in Mateo Flores on loan from Betis. This news, first reported by ‘Mundo Deportivo’, points to a smart move for the Portuguese club.

Flores is a 21-year-old midfielder. The agreement with Betis includes a special clause. Arouca will have an option to buy him outright. This purchase could even become mandatory if certain performance goals are met during his time on loan.

Mateo Flores has spent three seasons with the Sevilla-based club. He made his first-team debut just last season. He played in 17 matches with the senior squad. On top of that, he featured in 20 games for Betis’s B-team. It’s interesting to note that many of his top-level appearances came in the Conference League. Betis finished as runners-up in that competition, and the young midfielder played in seven of those important matches.

If this transfer goes through, Arouca’s midfield line-up for the new season will look complete. The club just announced another important signing on Wednesday. They brought in attacking midfielder Lee Hyunju, who previously played for Bayern Munich. Bringing in Flores would certainly cap off their midfield additions for the immediate future.
